There may be instances when the Android version of the Certis Phone App resets due to unexpected provisioning, updates, or changes to the operating software. These can cause the application to stop working, and warrants a fix.
This guide provides a simple, step-by-step process to reconfigure the app and to get it running again. Thankfully, the entire setup and reconfiguration process only takes 5-10 minutes! Read up below for the steps.
Please take note that due to the various versions of Android OS available on different phone manufacturers, the settings may vary and some extra steps may be needed.
How to Reconfigure the Certis Phone App:
1. Identify the Issue - First off, you need to check if the app has indeed reset. To do so, you may check if the SIP domain (e.g., sip11nautilus.zone:5061) is no longer displayed. In certain cases, it may show a wrong domain like "sessioncloud.nautilus.zone." In either scenario, a reset is called for.
2. Clearing App Data - If the SIP domain isn’t showing, you simply need to clear app data. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Go to App Info by holding down on the Certis Phone App
- Go to the bottom of the App info page and select Clear data > Clear all data.
3. Relaunch the App and Re-enter Credentials - Once all user data is cleared, relaunch the Certis Phone App. Doing so will prompt the user to allow the following permissions and re-enter their credentials.
Successful logins should be reflected by the Green signal icon on the top-right section of the Edit Account page. Please take note that it may take anywhere from 5-10 seconds to reflect.
Allowing App Permissions
If issues persist, check if all permissions are correctly allowed. Within the Android platform, there are two ways to go about this.
1. Inside App Permissions
To access these permissions, open the Certis Phone Application and click the 3 stacked dots on the top-right section of the interface.
Allow the permissions for the following sections to ensure that your app works properly.
2. Outside-app Permissions
To access this, press and hold the Certis Phone Application from the main phone interface.
Select App Info to reveal the following settings.
From here, there are few settings that need to be tweaked. First up is App Permissions. Make sure to allow the following features access.
Next up is the Other Permissions. Allow the following access to your phone as well.
Lastly, turn on Notifications for the application.
Remarks:
Some Android models will require a few extra steps. Make sure to turn off the feature to remove permissions as highlighted in the screenshot below.
Allow permission for the Android Certis Phone App to be displayed over other applications as highlighted below.
